Intercession is to meet with God for the purposes of:

An encounter, to reach towards something or someone;

To intercede for help or intervention;

To strike with force or attack;

To make a peace treaty, or join forces with (as in joining forces with heaven and God's will).

Jesus lives to make intercession for us in order that we would prevail in victory. Through relationship with God and His Holy Spirit, we have access to the strategies of His war counsel. Strategic intercession is the process of going into God's throneroom through prayer and intercession, obtaining His counsel and legislating it back into the earthly realm through specific, targeted prayer.

 We are God's ambassadors, legislating His will on earth as it has already been decided in heaven. This type of prayer will overcome and bring breakthrough!

The Holy Spirit is our witness and prayer partner because He is our paraclete, our helper. Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father, and He knows Father's heart. It is from this place that Jesus lives to make intercession for us according to Romans 8:34. We too are seated in heavenly places according to Ephesians 2:6, and as we obtain the mind and the heart of the Father through prayer, it is then that we can come boldly to the throne of His grace and ask that His will be performed on earth as it is in heaven.

 "Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them/" Mathew 18:19,20

Decrees are an important aspect in strategic, targeted prayer. Job 22:28 tells us that "You shall declare a thing and it shall be established for you, so that light shall shine on your ways." Again, we declare God's word and His will into the situation and it will be established because God's word, if we are using it in acordance with His will, always produces His desired effect.

Decrees have the power to change the spiritual atmosphere, bringing forth change. When used consistently in spiritual warfare, decrees have the power to increase momentum to our prayers, hastening the day of fulfillment. Decrees cause a change in structure, or a tranformation process to occur. Carrying the burden of the Lord is not an easy task. It can be long and tiring, but if we are persistant we will see results. Don't give up on the brink of your miracle! There is a reward for your labor - ask God for it! As we intercede for others, including our city and our nation, we can be assured that informed, strategic intercession will produce transformation!
